After graduating from college, Jim joined his uncle’s small business which worked with teachers to take 8th grade students to Washington, DC. In the first year, Jim drove the luggage truck and operated the envelope stuffing machine. He later became CEO and eventually partnered with other investors to buy the company from his uncle. He and his team expanded WorldStrides to provide educational travel and study abroad opportunities to students of all ages to over 100 destinations around the world.
When Jim left the company in 2019, he returned to his alma mater, Northwestern University, to earn a master’s degree in education. He completed his student teaching at a suburban Chicago high school, where he taught 115 ninth graders Modern World History and 24 seniors AP Macroeconomics. Jim has had a lifelong passion for helping teachers and students excel. His dream retirement job is teaching!
Jim is an active runner and lives with his wife in Charlottesville, Virginia. They have three grown children.
