Strategic Planning
Competing priorities and daily challenges can cause even the best education leaders to lose focus on their long-term goals. Strategic planning helps clear the fog and gets you and your team energized to create and implement a thoughtful plan that brings bold change. Our approach is collaborative, iterative and attuned to your priorities.
Services
- Strategic Plan Development: We follow a comprehensive, data-driven process that engages and aligns your stakeholders, including students, educators, and the local community. Then we leverage our proven Strategic Planning Framework to facilitate the crafting of a thoughtful plan that guides implementation and can be sustained for years to come.
- Strategic Plan Updating: If you already have a strategic plan, we’ll provide a point of view on how it can be strengthened to more effectively address current challenges and opportunities. We then work alongside your stakeholders to revise the plan.

Recruitment & Retention
The teacher shortage nationwide demands a rethink of how we recruit and retain our best educators. We deliver on both sides of the solution – filling the pipeline with new teachers and helping schools attract and retain great educators.
We provide career switchers and unlicensed paras and subs with the education and mentoring they need to become licensed teachers.
We help school districts and charter schools predict their hiring needs and start recruiting well in advance of vacancies so they have teachers at the moment they need them. Our teacher development and career pathing plans ensure schools will keep their educators in the classroom for years to come.

Case Examples
Accelerated Learning
Challenge
Research has revealed that 1 in 3 children in kindergarten through 3rd grade have little chance of reading on grade level by the end of 2023 without major and systemic interventions. Students in 4th and 8th grade who took the Nation’s Report Card test in spring 2022 showed the biggest drop in math performance since 1990. And although this problem was previously seen across the country among urban, disadvantaged youth, the pandemic wiped out the gains we had achieved in closing the opportunity gap
Solution
- Five weeks of engaging, standards-aligned curriculum in literacy and math
- Pre-program training
- Weekly virtual professional development for teachers
- Pre-and post-assessments
- Progress monitoring and data analysis tools
- The program is also flexible; schools can design their own summer schedule and pair this program with existing programs and/or enrichment partners.
Results
20,000 students in RISE Summer School 2022 grew an average of 47% in math and 60% in ELA in just five weeks.
Approximately 10,000 NYC students participated in RISE Summer School 2022 through our partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies. In five weeks, the percentage of students proficient in math and English nearly doubled, prompting the program expansion to eight cities in 2023.
5,000 students in Indianapolis in RISE Summer School 2021 achieved statistically significant gains in the end-of-year state assessment, according to research by the Indiana DOE.
